Blink is an exploration of timing and intent in portraiture. By its mechanism a camera intercepts time, freezing it in an uncanny stillness. It’s speed opens up a window onto a world which is ordinarily denied the casual everydayness of looking, such as a blink – this reflex ordinarily passed over as a failed portrait provides an interesting exploration of the willingness to exist in a state of incompletion.
